HAIKOU /China/, March 3. /TASS/. A high-tech smart platform for managing climate change processes has been launched in the southern Chinese province of Hainan, the Hainan Daily reported.
The project was the result of strategic cooperation between the provincial Environmental Protection Department and the Hainan Dianwang company. The launched platform is the first in the country, created jointly by the provincial government and the company to address issues related to climate change at the regional level. The purpose of this project is to promote the construction of a pilot ecological zone as well as green development in Hainan.
This platform allows regular monitoring of data on carbon emissions by both enterprises and individual industries at city, county and province levels. In the future, this project will make it possible to conduct environmental risk analysis and provide real-time assessment of environmental pollution on the basis of data collection.
This is in line with the task set by the authorities to improve the environmental monitoring system in the province as part of the Free Trade Port Project.
